I have a DIFAT-24 and use it to connect 8 channel mic preamps like the Presonus Digimax FS to my VS2400. All these allow you to hook in 8 channels of digital signals in other formats into your VS via RBUS. Roland also produced an ADAT-RBUS converter called the DIFAT-24, an ADAT+TDIF-RBUS converter called the DIF-AT, and a AES/EBU-RBUS converter called the AE-7000. One of these will double the mic pres available on your VS2400 or 2480 - 16 instead of 8. Roland produced an 8ch mic preamp and A/D converter, the ADA-7000. Virtually everything that uses RBUS is out of production now, but there are plenty of useful products floating about in the secondhand market. ![]() ![]() Very clever but never universally adapted beyond Roland products and died as a 'standard' pretty quickly. Basically they are the Roland version of Alesis' ADAT Lightpipe or Tascam TDIF standard, albeit a single cable solution that includes MIDI and sync data in both directions.
